Re-cap: Buick, Food & Wine Magazine, and Travel & Leisure Magazine's "Food & Wine Discovery Tour"
When I closed my eyes and inhaled the crisp Autumn air, I couldn't help but smile, for I was awe-struck by the shear fact that, having only traveled 28 miles northeast of Manhattan, I found myself surrounded by peace, tranquility, and some seriously insane mansions. Not once did I hear a single honking horn - car alarm - or a hobo's muffled solicitation...
I arrived at Greenwich, Connecticut's harbor-side Delamar Hotel approximately 30-minutes prior to the 10a.m. start for last Sunday's Buick, Food & Wine Magazine, and Travel & Leisure Magazine's Food & Wine Discovery Tour. For three glorious hours, my fellow guests and I got to experience the following: a test-drive in the brand-new, sport-injected 2011 Buick Regal - a mixology class led by Michael Green, the celebrity wine consultant/marketer behind Liquid Assets Consulting Group - the art of chocolate making with Knipschildt Chocolatier - Q&A session with my new idol/heroJane Stern, of roadfood.com - and a tasting preview with celebrity-chef Marcus Samuelsson, who whipped up some signature menu items from Red Rooster, his highly-anticipated, but not-yet-opened, Harlem restaurant.
Please enjoy my photos from this spectacular culinary outing, below.
